Johnbull Okpara – Co-Founder

Johnbull Okpara is an accomplished financial executive with over 30 years wealth of experience in global banking and financial management.

He began his career with Arthur Andersen in Nigeria and New York, before advancing to leadership roles at Ernst & Young, American Express, and Capital One. At Capital One, he served as Deputy Controller, playing a key role in the company’s financial operations. As Managing Director at Morgan Stanley, Johnbull was responsible for global financial planning and analysis. He joined CitiGroup as Chief Accounting Officer and later moved to Bank of America, where he currently serves as the Chief Accounting Officer & Head of Global Financial Controls. Throughout his career, Johnbull has been dedicated to driving strategic financial initiatives while maintaining a commitment to community service.

Johnbull is deeply passionate about using his success and expertise to make a positive impact in Nigeria and beyond. Through the JB Okpara Foundation, he aims to give back to the communities that have shaped his life, providing resources, opportunities, and support where it is most needed. His vision for the foundation is rooted in a desire to uplift and empower local communities, particularly those in rural areas. Johnbull is married to Jacklyn Amaka Okpara, and they have four children.

Jacklyn Amaka Okpara – Co-Founder & Executive Director

Jacklyn Okpara brings extensive experience in construction management, sourcing, and contractual compliance to the foundation

She holds a Master’s degree in International Affairs from Columbia University and a Bachelor’s degree in History from Boston University. Over the past 13 years, Jacklyn has held key positions at Lend Lease (US) Construction Inc., where she managed compliance and diversity practices, and at Siemens, where she worked in IT sourcing and transportation systems. Jacklyn has also worked at Johnson Controls as a Sourcing Manager, negotiating contracts with hospitals and health corporations. As Co-Founder and Executive Director, she leads the foundation’s efforts in Nigeria, focusing on education, food security, and infrastructure projects. Jacklyn is married to Johnbull Okpara, and they have four children.

Emmanuel Chidi Okpara – Nigeria Country Head

Emmanuel Chidi Okpara is an experienced businessman with a background in physiology, having graduated as the best student from the University of Lagos.

 Emmanuel has dedicated much of his career to business development and operations, with a particular focus on expanding the foundation’s reach and impact in Nigeria. His leadership skills, combined with his deep understanding of local needs, make him an invaluable asset in the foundation’s mission to improve the lives of those in need. Helen Oluchi Nwachukwu – Senior Advisor

Helen Oluchi Nwachukwu is an accomplished Technical Product Manager and business strategist with over eight years of experience spanning investment platforms, retail banking, consulting, and audit.

She currently works as a Business Systems Analyst at AJ Bell in the UK, where she drives digital transformation initiatives, enhances customer experiences, and aligns technology solutions with strategic business objectives. Helen holds a First-Class BSc in Business Management from the University of Sunderland.

Her professional journey includes impactful roles at Santander UK, where she led regulatory compliance and customer experience initiatives, and First Bank Nigeria, where she spearheaded strategies for wholesale banking and digital innovation. At KPMG Nigeria, she advanced from Audit Associate to Senior Business Analyst, advising clients in banking, oil & gas, and FMCG on business process optimization and digital transformation.

Beyond her corporate achievements, Helen is deeply committed to social impact. She serves as a Trustee at Medville Global Health Centre and volunteers with The Royal Parks UK, contributing to governance, community development, and environmental initiatives. As a Senior Advisor to the JB Okpara Foundation, she leverages her cross-sector expertise to support international partnerships, strategic planning, and sustainable development.

Ugochukwu Okpara – Director of Programmes, Branding, and Technology

Ugochukwu Okpara is a seasoned professional with over 23 years of experience in technology, IT web development, branding, and real estate development.

He holds a BSc in Computing and Information Systems from the University of Portsmouth and an Executive Programme certification in Real Estate Economics and Finance from the London School of Economics (LSE). Ugochukwu is the Director of Data Studio Resources Ltd (DSR), an IT and web development company, as well as a Brand Development and Brand Consultancy company. At DSR, he leads brand development strategies and web solutions, helping businesses and start-ups in Nigeria, Europe and the US, to create strong IT digital footprints and effective branding.

He is also the Director of Godera Homes Limited and FUTO-Orient Garden City Limited, both of which focus on real estate property development and sales. As the Director of Programmes, Branding, and Technology at the JB Okpara Foundation, Ugochukwu oversees the development of IT systems, branding strategies, and overall programme management. His extensive experience in both technology and branding, combined with his leadership in real estate, contributes greatly to the foundation’s ability to implement impactful projects, particularly in infrastructure development and community empowerment.

Ugochukwu is married with four children and plays a key role in ensuring that the foundation’s goals are aligned with its long-term strategic vision, enhancing its brand, digital presence and operational effectiveness.
